OUR DEERHOUND MEMORIES - PAST HOUNDS

CH Siochail Adele joined us shortly after Almira and she also finished her championship before she was two.
CH Siochail Almira "Mira".  Our first deerhound.  She finished easily as a youngster.
Caerwicce's Katmandu "Baby Kat" (SIRE: BISS CH Caerwicce's TS Eliot DAM: CH Caerwicce's Mae West) born in May 1994.  Only shown a few times, she lived until almost 13 years old.  We miss our Baby Kat.
We've shown three of our dogs to BOB BISS wins at the SDCA Western Regional Specialty.  We don't advertise and are not known by judges so we consider this quite an achievement.
Weirskints Bound for Glory.  A gift from Christine Stead in Austrialia she was a special girl.  Strong and an expert hunter she showed early promise.  We should have finished her but did not show for a few years.
CH Caerwicce's Cassanova (16 months)
Our first litter was out of CH Siochail Almira sired by BISS AM CAN CH Jaraluv the Future Factor, born April 1989, and only two puppies survived.  CH Caerwicce's Cleopatra, on the left, pictured at 11 months winning Best of Opposite Sex in the Sweeps at the SDCA 1990 National Specialty in Denver.  Cleo finished her championship at 11 months.
On the right is CH Caerwicce's Mata Hari.  Best in Sweeps at the Lompoc Western Regional and finished her championship with 5 pt majors at 15 months.
BISS CH Caerwicce's TS Eliot.  (SIRE:  Craigallian Saks Fifth Avenue DAM: CH Timbersprings Rising Star)  Bred by Robin Gillespie and born in March 1991, he was my pick as a stud fee puppy.  A big, very strong boy with a mind of his own.  WD/BW/BOB at the SDCA Western Regional Specialty in Lompoc CA to finish his Championship at around 18 months old (year?).  Award of Merit Winner at the 1994 St. Louis SDCA National Specialty.  Several group placements but he was not shown often after finishing his championship.
CH Caerwicce's Mae West "BB".  Winner of the Bred-By class at the 1993 SDCA National Specialty in Lompoc.

CH Caerwicce's Sir Lancelot.

CH Caerwicce's Liza of Rowanlea.

CH Timberspring's Lizabeth at Sontse was a littermate to Eliot who we leased back to breed to CH Sindar Megabuck.  The puppies were born in March 1995 and we had very nice Champions from that litter.  Besides Violet (pictured) they included CH Timberspring's Calamity Jane and Timberspring's Ladybird.

BISS AM & CAN CH Craigallian Saks Fifth Ave "Parks". (SIRE: BISS BIS AM CAN CH Jaraluv the Future Factor DAM: CAN CH Hollyrood the Fantasitc Fallon)  "Parks" was bred by Joanna Carr and was born in July of 1987.  He finished his Championship before he was two and went on to multiple group 1sts and group placements, BOB at large supported entries and BOB at the Western Regional Specialty (year?).  He was the number 2 deerhound in the early 90s.  Not sure of the exact year for that either.  His movement was outstanding but it was the sweet gentle temperment that made him special.  He is also the sire of multiple champions out of just a few breedings where most of the puppies when to pet home.
CH Sindar Manzanita "Mia".  Littermate to BISS CH Sindar Megabuck.
CH Caerwicce's Amarantha "Voilet" was our keeper.  She finished with three 5 point majors, two in Lompoc on the specialty weekend.

We acquired our first deerhounds in 1985.  They were littermates Sired by CH Shanids Noel and out of Dhu Mohr Nestoria Algonkian, born in February 1985.
Almira was finished before she was two years old and number 2 deerhound in 1987 being shown by handler Bill Hickerson to numerous group 1st and placements.  His wife Dee showed Adele to her championship.  We learned how to show from Bill and Dee and gained enough confidence to do most of our own showing after these two.

Our second litter in April 1990 was also out of CH Siochail Almira but sired by a son of BISS CH Jaraluv the Future Factor - BISS AM & CAN CH Craigallian Saks Fifth Ave.  We had four lovely Champions out of that litter.  Cassanova and Mae West were our keepers.
BISS CH Sindar Megabuck "Gabe" (SIRE: CH Lehigh Ross DAM: Sindar Ianna).  Bred by Allyn Babitch and born in September 1992, we bought his littermate Manzanita "Mia" as a puppy and later got Gabe at around 11 months old.  He was Best Puppy at the 1993 SDCA National Specialty in Lompoc, a BOB at the Western Regional Spcialty in Lompoc (year?), BOB winner of several supported entries, and an AOM winner at the 1994 National Specialty in St Louis.  He also won numerous Group 1st and placements both owner handled and occassionally with handlers.
CH Vale Vue's Evista.  Winner of the SDCA's National Specialty Furturity event two years in a row.  "EVIE" is a special girl we fell in love with when we met her.  Luckily she was very stubborn with Norma Sellers her breeder and so were able to talk Norma into letting us take her home.  She is the Dam of two of our litters that includes several Champions.
